Our multi-disciplinary team of board-certified doctors, led by medical director, Dr. Alex Visco, author of The Neck Pain Handbook, uses an innovative array of advanced non-invasive treatments that may alleviate your back, neck or other spine pain and restore strength and function–without orthopedic or spine surgery.

With our unique, "whole patient" approach, we effectively treat such painful conditions as:

  • Herniated, bulging and torn discs in the neck (cervical), middle (thoracic) or lower (lumbar) back.
  • Pinched nerves in your neck, middle or lower back also known, respectively, as cervical, thoracic and lumbar radiculopathies.
  • Arthritis of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, also known as spondylosis, which can lead to pain generating from the tiny facet joints along your neck and back, particularly after age 40.
  • Spinal injuries including spinal compression fractures and trauma.
  • Spinal stenosis, or a narrowing of the spine, that can cause weakness, arm or leg pain and, in severe cases, neurological problems.
  • Sacroiliac joint pain caused by an inflammation of the joints connecting the lower spine to the pelvis, also known as sacroiliitis.
  • Sciatica caused by pressure on a nerve root exiting the spine.
  • Failed back surgeries, including spinal fusion, laminectomy, discectomy or another major procedure that did not work, or has since stopped working.
  • Muscular "trigger points." Commonly found in the lower back, neck or upper shoulders, these are tender, tight areas of muscle that can cause persistent pain and decrease your range of motion.

Treatment for these and other neck, back and spine conditions begins with a very thorough evaluation and initial consultation with one of our board-certified medical doctors. Based on this evaluation–which may last up to one hour–and the results of any prescribed diagnostic testing, your doctor will create a customized treatment plan that may include:

  • Pain Management techniques that are minimally invasive and delivered with extreme precision for highly effective, lasting results. These techniques include epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections and nerve blocks.
  • Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation to restore flexibility, strength and function.

Your plan also may include such alternative approaches as chiropractic adjustments that help patients find relief and get back on their feet quickly, as well as acupuncture, the traditional Chinese medicine technique.

WHAT OUR PATIENTS ARE SAYING

More Testimonials

I went to The Spine & Sports Health Center with some mild, chronic pain in my knee. Dr. Visco performed diagnostics and discovered that I had a partial ACL tear. I worked with the physical therapist over 12 weeks to restore movement and relieve pain. Although I was skeptical, all the pain I had been feeling for eight months was completely relieved once my therapy was complete. The staff was also extremely helpful and cordial. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for pain relief and injury rehab.
