Alex Visco, M.D., Medical Director

The Medical Director of The Spine & Sports Health Center, Alex Visco, M.D. is a Board Certified Physician who specializes in Sports Medicine, interventional procedures for neck, back and joint pain, and neurologic disorders.

Our practice’s unique “personalized” approach comes from Dr. Visco. Troubled by what he witnessed during his first job out of residency — rushed appointments, instances when patients were treated poorly by office staff, and limited access to personnel or hands-on medical care and physical therapy – he decided to do things differently when he opened his own practice. With his colleagues, Dr. Visco is committed to providing patients with:

  • Ample time to diagnose and treat each patient properly
  • Focused follow-up care to ensure the long-term benefits of treatment
  • Dedicated, one-on-one physical therapy care
  • A strong focus on listening to the patient
  • Truly excellent customer service from every staff member

Ron Ben-Meir, D.O., Interventional Pain Management Specialist

Ron Ben-Meir, D.O., is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship-trained in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine. He specializes in sports-related injuries, affecting highly competitive athletes and weekend warriors alike, as well as general musculoskeletal pain. His number one goal is getting you back on the field in top form as soon as possible.

Skilled in the latest in non-surgical interventional techniques to treat neck and back pain, Dr. Ben-Meir also performs diagnostic procedures — such as musculoskeletal ultrasound and electromyography — to better evaluate sources of muscle and nerve-related pain. This aids in treatment and can relieve pain faster by pinpointing the source. Dr. Ben-Meir focuses his practice on the comprehensive treatment of patients with sports injuries and acute or chronic pain. Patients receive an individualized treatment plan that may include options such as physical therapy, medications, yoga, chiropractic, acupuncture and targeted injections using ultrasound or fluoroscopy. All of these are great alternative options to surgery and are more cost effective.

Michael Kelly, D.C., Chiropractor

Michael Kelly, D.C. is a Board Certified Chiropractor who helps patients achieve essential relief for a wide range of painful conditions by providing chiropractic adjustments that effectively correct dysfunction in the spinal column and extremities. These can be especially common in high impact sports like football and hockey.

In private practice for more than 15 years, Dr. Kelly uses various manipulative techniques, hands-on muscle release techniques and rehabilitation instruction to help patients achieve their goals. He focuses on treating patients who suffer from:

  • Low and mid-back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • Shoulder pain
  • Sports injuries

A collegiate athlete and a student athletic trainer during his undergraduate years, Dr. Kelly is still active in sports and particularly enjoys working with athletes —from the student athlete to the weekend warrior— to improve their performance and remain injury-free. This experience has given Dr. Kelly great insight into the world of an athlete and can help you recover from injuries faster than the rest.
